Inglenook is approximately 5 1/2 hours from both New York City and Boston and 2 hours from Montreal. It is a different world up here! We are convenient and quiet, but not isolated.

A nature lover's paradise, the Adirondack Park is 6 million acres of incredible beauty. There is a boat launch just 3 minutes from the cottage which opens up over 40 miles of lakes and rivers through the stunning backcountry. Inglenook is an excellent base camp from which to enjoy day trips all over the park.

The Olympic Village of Lake Placid is just 8 miles away. Site of the 1932 and the 1980 Olympic Winter Games; the tours are outstanding in all seasons. Whiteface Mountain is another 10 minute scenic drive away. Outstanding down-hill skiing for all levels of expertise, snow shoeing, ice-skating, cross- country skiing, snow boarding and tubing are some of the fun cold weather activities. In warm weather there are many opportunities for hiking, with trails for all levels of expertise, boating of all kinds, water skiing, fishing, wilderness exploration, birding and photography are some of the many activities you'll find. There is the Ironman USA Triathlon competition in July, which attracts top athletes, and the Horse Shows and competitions in Lake Placid that also attract the cream of the crop in June and July. Maybe just a quiet walk in the woods, antique hunting, shopping for unique treasures or a nap on one of the comfortable porches is more your style. We have all that too. In warmer weather a day trip to the Adirondack Museum in Blue Mountain Lake is not to be missed. Neither is the Natural History Museum of the Adirondacks in Tupper Lake. Great Camp Sagamore and the W.W. Durrant steamboat tour are always favorites. All of these days trips are possible with Inglenook Cottage as your home base.

All bedrooms at the cottage offer quality mattresses, Italian linens and plush towels. You will arrive to fresh flowers and champagne, Godiva chocolates and Penhaligon toiletries from London. There are also robes and hair dryers and make-up mirrors for your convenience. We promise you'll be pleasantly surprised at how much you are pampered at Inglenook!
